The Ceredigion national eisteddfod which was originally scheduled to take place during the first week of August 2020 has once again been postponed for a year due to the ongoing covid-19 pandemic.
Speaking on Radio Cymru’s new breakfast news show, “Dros Frecwast”, the eisteddfods chief executive Betsan Moses confirmed that following discussions with Welsh Government and Public Health Wales this year’s eisteddfod, scheduled to take place in Tregaron, would now be held from 30th July – August 6th 2022 on the same Maes.
Following the latest guidance and advice, putting the safety and health of the volunteers, supporters, visitors, competitors, artists and staff had become paramount for the Eisteddfod organisers.
The Eisteddfod will build upon last years successful “Amgen” digital output this year by, hopefully, including elements of competition.
The news means the Eisteddfod has opened a consultation with staff regarding several potential job losses.
Further information regarding the postponement is available on the eisteddfod website and can be accessed here.
